24/25 season training blog

POST FROM FIRST TRAINING SESSION 8th September:

“At 9am on Sunday the 8th September our first week of Mini training looked in jeopardy with rain pouring down. But the gods smiled and by 9:45 the sun shone, and the coaches were out setting out the pitches. Would our first session be ruined by the rain? Not a bit of it, by 10am 26 players had arrived and warm-ups had started. Several children arrived for their first sessions answering the flyer put out by the club. This year with more coaches stepping up the kids could be divided into smaller specific age groups each of about 12 supported by 2 coaches. Skills were rusty but sharpened through the sessions and everyone put in a full shift to the delight of all involved. Like a well-oiled machine our backroom team provided food to some hungry mouths.  Thanks to all involved in getting our season off to a great start

Next session Sunday 15th September at 10.00am”.

POST FROM FAMILY DAY 1st September:

“This event saw a great turnout with many new faces as well as many of last years regulars present. A two-hour fun based session was enjoyed by all. The two hour fun session was a mixture of team based games designed to improve kids rugby skills whilst providing the maximum enjoyment and participation from all who attended . The principles  of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship were reflected throughout the day and we had several new Kids who had the first experience of Kids First Rugby. After match activities included a free bouncy castle and free face painting. This was rounded off by a splendid BBQ hosted by Jan, Dave and Darren.

A great family event to start the season. Regular training starts next Sunday 8th September at 10am

Thanks to all the coaches including our new Coaches Chris John and Gary now joining forces with Bernard, Dave Vicky and Steve”.

With 15 enthusiastic young players flying the Pewsey flag, the teams showcased incredible skills, team spirit, and determination throughout the round-robin games.

The day was a masterclass in Teamwork, Respect, Discipline and Sportsmanship, but most importantly, it was all about FUN!

Huge thanks to the amazing parents for making it all happen and a massive shoutout to Amesbury RFC for hosting such a fantastic day #UTV
